Our Staff

We are extremely proud of our professional staff. At the end of the day it is our instructors, guides, office personnel, massage therapists, kitchen staff, and housekeepers that make the difference to your stay. They provide the motivation, inspiration and most importantly the care that is required to make lifestyle changes that matter.

Shayne and son Wes

Andrea & Shayne Stuchbery
Resort Owners & Managers

Shayne and Andrea have spearheaded the Coastal Trek Resort experience since breaking ground on Forbidden Plateau over 9 years ago. Living on the property with their 4 children, the venture of providing health and fitness education and activities has become a way of life.

Aside from providing the friendly face of Coastal Trek Resort, Andrea shares her love of cooking and nutrition by spending most of her time preparing inspired meals in the stunning Coastal Trek Kitchen.

Shayne, a New Zealand import, will be found leading many of the daily hikes. Guests are often surprised to learn they are coming to the end of a particularly challenging hike thanks to his relaxed kiwi approach to the outdoors.

Shayne and Andrea's passion for nature, music, food and other enriching activities permeates the Coastal Trek Resort philosophy of learning, appreciating, and sharing in a healthy lifestyle. All of which makes for an enterprise that continues to blossom as more creative ideas are made real and imparted on each guest who visits the lodge on Forbidden Plateau.

Nigel

Nigel Harrison
Mt. Washington Ski Guide

Nigel is a highly experienced ski guide with a reputation for providing fun, effective coaching for any level of skier. With over 20 seasons teaching skiing around the world, Nigel helps you achieve your skiing goals, whatever level of skier you are. He is as happy working with skiers on green runs as he is working on steep, ungroomed snow with trees, bumps and chutes.

Skiing and climbing have taken Nigel all over the world, including Alaska, the Himalaya, the European Alps, Australia's Snowy Mountains, the New Zealand Alps, the mountains of Greenland, Venezuela, the U.K. and Scandinavia. Beyond the ski area boundaries, Nigel has clicked into his skis on 6 continents, and enjoys the challenge of climbing and skiing in remote places. In recent years he sailed the Atlantic twice in small boats with skis on board, visiting Greenland, Africa and South America. In North America he climbed Denali and Mount Baker on skis. www.skiwithnigel.ca

Barlow the Fearless and Friendly

Barlow

Many of you will recognize Barlow, our fearless and friendly dog. His favourite hike has to be out the back door to the summit of Mount Beecher. When not out keeping the animals at bay he can be found relaxing on the lodge front step or at the Stuchbery house keeping an eye on the kids and the crumbs off the floor.
